We choose fresh organic garlic

We get excited when we source organic garlic from local farms—especially farms close to our kitchen in Holliston. After all, garlic is our foundational ingredient—and it can be surprisingly fickle to find.

So when we find great garlic, we get pretty excited.

Choosing the best garlic

We look for the freshest, best-tasting garlic we can find. Whenever possible, we source our garlic from organic farms close to home.

We love the taste of New England garlic, and we love supporting the farmers who grow it. Sourcing locally helps us keep more of our ingredients close to home while supporting New England agriculture.

Why organic garlic?

Fresh organic garlic has a bold, complex flavor we love, and we feel good about knowing where it comes from. That’s why certified USDA organic garlic is always our top priority.

Certified organic farmers follow standards designed to protect soil health and restrict synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. Practices can include crop rotation, cover crops, and composting.

For SALTY MAMINA, it comes down to a simple philosophy: clean, simple ingredients, grown with care.

From nearby farms to your kitchen

We source organic and pesticide-free garlic from farms across New England, prioritizing growers as close to home as we can.

This year, we were especially excited to source our garlic from Grallert Farm in Millis, Massachusetts. In July, we picked up a whole lot of their freshly harvested garlic and brought it back to our kitchen.

Their hardneck garlic has the big, bold, naturally complex flavor we look for in our garlic salt. Freshly harvested local garlic has a distinctive bite and a spicy, lingering sensation. It’s bold, fresh, and full of character.

And that fresh garlic makes our garlic salt truly special—spicy and bold, with a bright, savory finish.

Because garlic is the foundation of our garlic salt—and so many of our other seasonings—we believe it deserves to be sourced with the same care we put into everything we make.

Fresh garlic. Local farms. Organic whenever we can. That’s how we choose our garlic.
