Sweet and fragrant french onion soup made with Mamina's Fresh Herb Garlic Salt for a full-bodied vegetarian broth. Red and sweet white onion and sugar caramelization gives a sweet and buttery taste to our vegetarian version of classic french onion soup.

Preparing the Onions
- Slice onions in thin rounds.
- In a large sauce pot, melt butter over low heat.
- Add onions and 2 tbls sugar.
- Let onions caramelize over low heat until slightly translucent (don't overcook)
- Slowly stir in cornstarch with a bit of water.
- Add wine slowly while stirring.
- Add the rest of ingredients. Stir and let simmer for about an hour.
Notes
- Don't overcook the onions!
- You can use vermouth in place of red wine.
- Add thick toasted bread and cheese if you'd like.
